Transfer Failure Guide

Help! I lost my pet!

Transfer failure? SELF-transfer failure? There is only one way to get the designated pet: Ask the Pound Surfer (new owner). An important part of the request message is your ATTITUDE. Below are three examples of neomail-requests.

Taking losing a pet during self-transfer for this case.

How can you interupt my self-transfer? You know you're not supposed to. I demand you give it back if you know what's good for you (or some sort of accusing and angry neomail)

The attitude is... ugh... Would YOU give a pet to someone like that?

Hi. I lost my pet during a self-transfer. Would you send it back please?

An o.k. attitude, but not great. You forgot to be polite. Even if they refuse, they are still granting you a favor READING and REPLYING your message. Look at the following example:

I lost my pet during a self-transfer. This pet is very important to me so I would appreciate it if you would please give her back to me. I am sure you would like evidence that I am indeed the pet's owner. The screenshot (whatever evidence) is here (wherever you choose). I am aware that you are under no obligation to return her, and I will be certain to appreciate a reply, whether positive or otherwise. Thank you for your time. Remember, you do not have to react upon my message. Have a good day.

I gave the new owner a message similar to that when I lost my pet. She agreed! But I was only lucky. My message was not offensive or anything. I was very polite, but even in my perspective I sound like I was panicking (I actually was). I sent her multiple neomails (ONE IS ENOUGH!!!) just because she hadn't the chance to check. Remember, NEVER accuse people when asking a favor of them, unless you want them to withdraw their kindness. And in closing, it's best not to lose your pet again after it got returned because... Two times lucky? Fat chance!

P.S. If you just adopted a pet and someone asks you for it, it's best to ask for actual evidence. Don't go around neoboards asking if someone lost it. Chances are, if they indeed lost it and cared enough for it, they would neomail you. As said in example 3, you do not HAVE to give the pet back if you don't want to. It's completely up to you!
