Creating a border around your Image in PSP

Want to create a border around an image like this?

or this:

Well here is the right tutorial for you!
1) Grab the image you want by the usual right clicking on the image, copy (CTRL+C) the image. I’m using this one:

2) Then paste the image into PSP (I’m using PSP8 but it doesn’t matter).
3) Look on your left and you should see on your tool bar something like this:

Click the “Background Eraser” or the picture with something similar to mine, then rub/erase all the white on the picture until it is transparent like this:

4) When you have finished, open a new image by clicking File>New or you can just press CTRL+N faster. Before your new image comes up something like this comes up:

Choose your width and height but your image MUST be able to fit in it, I have chosen 450x250 because my Strawberry Poogle can fit in it. After typing in your dimensions, click on the box with white or the colour you last used. 5) That should now lead you to ANOTHER box! This box should now be able to let you choose the colour you want of your new image. Remember, this is the BORDER colour so if you want your border to be green then choose green etc. I have chosen a mixture of green and red as it is the colours of a strawberry.

6) Now click ok for both and your new image with your colour should now come up like this:

7) Now that your new image has come up, go to your chosen image you wanted to create a border for. Click Selection>Select All or just CTRL+A. Copy the image.
8) Go over to your new image with your border colour, because you have copied your following image, press CTRL+E. After that you should see something like this:

9) Part1) A marquee should be surrounding your image. Now click Selections>Modify>Expand and type in something around 2-4. If your image suddenly has some white in your image it’s best to use the Background Eraser tool again and rub out the remains but if your image is something like this and has bits of white and black – which you can’t do much about it:

Part 2) I suggest you to do a white border FIRST before your colour so that it’s much smoother like this by repeating steps 4&5:

10) After that you should all be able to do this (no matter if you did Part 2 or not) look at the image below if you don’t understand:

Last Step!! After you have done that you can now copy the image and paste as a new image and voila! You have created a border around your image!! ^_^
Here is my result!! Hope it helped!!
